Black Coral Distillery | Adaptive Reuse | Completed 2019
Located in the heart of the energetic warehouse district, Black Coral (a.k.a. Steel Tie Spirits) is a family owned local business that was looking to be the first in south Florida to craft rum. This commercial project includes a large rum production area with impressive state of the art equipment, which can be seen by customers exploring and enjoying craft cocktails of the product from the bar area open to the public. The 100 year old brick walls of this building and the steel roof trusses remain exposed and serve as inspiration and homage to the prohibition era. We incorporated timber pieces recycled by the client as the frame for the glass wall separating the production area and the bar. The production area doubles as a venue for weddings and other private events. We encourage you to stop in and try their delicious rum and marvel at the antique elements gathered by the client himself and incorporated into the interior. Address: 1615 Clare Ave Unit A, West Palm Beach, FL 33401
