Century Village North Guard House
New Construction | Completed 2019
This 2-story guardhouse is located at the north entrance of Century Village in Pembroke Pines, FL. The design for the drive lane bays commanded a tall covered structure to eliminate truck collisions with the supporting beams that became a major structural and safety problem for the guards working in the existing building which was demolished to give way to this new and improved design. The conceptual design went through an extensive Century Village board review. The design was also presented by the project manager Daria Fox and the engineering firm DKK Consulting, Inc to the city of Pembroke Pines for their approval. She produced visual renderings and sourced the material samples to serve as the inspiration for the conceptual approval, design development and in collaboration with project manager Frank Spencer the construction and permit drawing production. The construction was completed in early 2019. The ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by the mayor of Pembroke Pines  and the Century Village board. Seeing the pride in their new guardhouse and their gleaming faces is the biggest reward Daria Fox as the architect could hope for.
